POATE is East Africa’s tourism signature event that brings together tourism stakeholders to one ideal meeting place to meet and network with exhibitors, buyers, investors and suppliers of services in the tourism sector from all over the world.

Mega-events play an invaluable role in the development of many destinations and these events contribute significantly to the market, enhance the awareness of the destinations, encourage cultural exchange, and promote the preservation of local culture.

When business meets leisure, event attendees are either staying extra days to enjoy a destination on their own, or bringing their families with them who can enjoy the daytime action while they’re attending their event.

Baguma John Henry the Coordinator at KTIF revealed that travelers are looking at destinations to provide a roadmap for a successful trips, regardless of what brings them there and KTIF is positioning Kasese as the most preferred destination and a choice for all world travellers.

“Destination Kasese, Rwenzori Experience is the trade slogan being powered by the Kasese Tourism Investors Forum to market Kasese to the world,” Baguma said

The slogan ‘Destination Kasese’ The Experience’ aims to bring the tourism stakeholders for Kasese as a tourism district together to promote the local area to attract customers.

Kiiza Alexander the Chief Executive Officer KTIF said; “When you bond together with local travellers and other tourism businesses in your area, you’re increasing your ability to develop a brand for your destination.”

He adds that networking within your local travel market is critical in creating successful marketing techniques.

“When you network with those in the same industry as you, their is a possibility to form an alliance of all sorts,” Kiiza added.

As Destination Kasese is preparing to host the Rwenzori Theluji Festival featuring the Rwenzori Marathon, the Experience at the POATe is expected to shape the forthcoming “BIG THING” in Kasese.

You are invited to participate in the Rwenzori Theluji Festival 2023.
